Throughout history, every enduring artistic tradition has been build upon timeless truths – truths that teach us to recognize beauty, understand it, and give it lasting form. These truths endue because they reflect the way we perceive, organize , and respond to the visual world.
As artists master these truths, technical knowledge becomes artistic judgement. Uncertainty gives way to confidence. Observation becomes understanding. And with that understanding comes the freedom to create with wisdom, intention and authentic artistic voice.
Even as information becomes more abundant and creative tools more powerful, judgement becomes increasingly valuable. Timeless disciplines provide the foundation for making wise artistic decisions – regardless of the tools we use.
The Atelier
Every artist longs for the freedom to faithfully express what they see, feel, and imagine. That freedom is not found in talent alone. It is earned through disciplined practice, thoughtful mentorship, and the mastery of enduring principles. At the Danene Taysom Atelier, students learn far more than technique. They learn to see with greater clarity, think with great discernment, and paint with confidence rooted in understanding rather than guesswork.
The goal is not to paint like someone else.

It is to become an artist whose judgment , character, and vision are worthy of creating work that endures.

The Atelier offers three levels of instruction tailored to where you are in your artistic growth.
Weekly Classes
Foundations
Thursdays 10:00–12:00
$120 per month
Build the foundation of confident painting through design,drawing, value, color, form and brushwork.
Advanced Atelier
Mondays 2:00–5:00
$160 per month
Develop the judgment required to create increasingly unified, expressive, and enduring paintings through composition, color harmony, atmosphere, brushwork, and individualized critique.
Watercolor Atelier
Mondays 5:30–7:30
$120 per month
Develop luminous transparency, expressive brushwork, elegant simplification, and confident watercolor design.
